There is so much love in transit
— in hellos, goodbyes, and little moments in between.

Who could be more familiar with the rhythm of our dates?
If not the trains, buses, and sidewalks we journey on. Quiet witnesses to the love we share, the love we grow.

There is so much love in transit.
That first ‘hello’ after a long day, where the world could’ve been crumbling just minutes ago, but suddenly the pieces stop. The world leaves you in peace — if only temporarily — for you to reunite with
those smiling eyes,
that same familiar smell,
the calming strokes down your back,
you soak them all in.

Your fingers intertwine seamlessly, a ritual so ingrained your body needn’t think twice. You both walk on, footsteps a little lighter than before.

You wait for the train, or you wait for the bus.
You take 3 stops, or you take 15. What’s the hurry?
There’s ever much to catch up on, please, take your time.

There is a feeling in your gut when you know something is inching towards the end. You continue your stories, and you continue your laughter. But each moment starts to feel precious.
You pray the bus driver moves a little slower, hope the last mile weaves a couple more turns. Whatever it takes to stretch time a little longer.

And when you can no longer delay the inevitable, you savour every last bit: look into those eyes that look back at you in wonder, bury yourself in those safe, warm arms.

You trust that there’ll soon come a day where such goodbyes become a thing of the past. Because home will be ours, not mine and yours.

Soon, it shall be. Soon.
